Scope of Position:
EDF Renewables North America is a market-leading independent power producer and service provider with over 35 years of experience

wind (onshore and offshore), solar photovoltaic, and storage projects; distribution-scale power: solar and storage; asset optimization: technical, operational, and commercial expertise to maximize the performance of generating projects, and onsite solutions, through the Company's PowerFlex affiliate, offering a full suite of onsite energy solutions for commercial and industrial customers: solar, storage, EV charging, energy management systems, and microgrids.

This position, under specific direction from the site manager, or his/her designee, maintains photovoltaic power and energy storage systems.

The scope includes, but not limited to full system installation, commissioning, maintenance, system performance evaluation and troubleshooting of power and energy systems.


Responsibilities:


  • Perform preventative maintenance on utility scale photovoltaic power plants and storage systems.
  • Complete daily; maintenance logs, work orders, timecards, service reports, and any other required paperwork or computer work for the specific project/assignment.
  • Perform OEM testing, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades/ revisions to a broad range of equipment in the renewable industry.
  • Monitoring (DAS) Systems, as well as other components of large PV power plants and energy storage systems.
  • Conduct site safety assessments and identify all safety hazards on jobsite, lead daily safety meetings, properly fill out JHA & LOTO documentation.
  • Re-Commission PV systems, including but not limited to; insulation testing (megger testing), I-V curve testing, thermal imagery, torque tests and performance evaluations.
  • Review project plans, specifications & installation instructions to ensure that the project is built according to the approved design and specifications
  • Participate in the 24hr/weekly "On Call" rotation.
  • Other duties as assigned

Working Conditions:


10% of time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment.

90% of time is spent outside of the office visiting vendors' and/or internal customers' sites in additional to attending various conferences and meetings.

This position requires working on platforms or skids, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, and the repetitive use of legs, arms, hands, and fingers.

The employee will work eight (8) hours a day, forty (40) hours a week, and overtime and night shifts as required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to:


  • Extreme weather conditions, including cold, heat, rain, wind, etc.
  • Moving mechanical parts and vibration
  • Confined spaces
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:


  • High School diploma or equivalent; or up to two years of related experience or training; or combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years of electrical experience highly preferred
  • 1+ year handson commercial photovoltaic electrical experience preferred
  • NABCEP certification or other component specific solar certifications a plus
  • Appropriate licensing to work as electrician in the designated area
  • Experience using a CMMS system for maintenance tracking (SAP Preferred)

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:


  • Focused on efficiency and removing labor hours from tasks or projects
  • Working knowledge of solar industry best practices, NEC requirements, and diagnosis/repair of common solar failures.
  • Knowledge of electrical code and OSHA regulations
  • Highly experienced in using and understanding testing and diagnostic equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, etc.)
  • Able to work at heights, including climbing up and climbing down ladders.
  • Demonstrate good work habits, including but not limited to attendance, and maintaining a neat and orderly work environment.
