    Job DescriptionSalary: 60K - 75K

    onShore Security, a 25-year-old firm specializing in managed security services. We are a business casual work environment with strong ties to the Open Source software community. Our talented and passionate team provides reliable technical support and high-tech solutions for any industry. We are committed to working with our clients twenty-four hours a day.

    onShore Security's Panoptic Cyberdefense is a Managed Detection and Response (MDR) solution built and maintained by onShore Security personnel.

    We believe that security is more than a product off the shelf and devote dedicated resources to our clients to assist with building processes and provide detection and thoughtful analysis.

    onShore is looking for a Network Security Analyst who shares this vision to add to the team This is a full-time position with a benefits package.

    The salary is dependent upon experience and performance.


    Position Summary:
    This is a network security analyst position in our Managed Security Services division.

    The selected candidate will work in a small team to perform intrusion and log analysis, maintain and monitor intrusion detection sensors, research potential vulnerabilities, and prepare and present analytical reporting to our clients.


    Requirements:

    • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
    • A solid knowledge of IP protocols
    • Good knowledge of general networking concepts and protocols
    • At least 1-year experience performing packet analysis
    • At least 1-year experience in working in or administrating Linux / Unix environment
    • Knowledge of scripting languages (Perl, Python, JSON) is encouraged
    • Understanding of security event monitoring concepts and escalation processes
    • Familiarity with governance standards (ISO 27001/2, HIPPA, NIST-800)
    • Experience performing database queries and report preparation
    • Familiarity with current trends and challenges within the security landscape
    • Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and explain how to avoid them.
    • Understanding of patch management with the ability to consult on remediation, if needed, in a timely manner while understanding the business impact.
