The Genomics Institute (GI), an Organized Research Unit located within the Baskin School of Engineering, with faculty from several divisions on campus, leads UC Santa Cruz's efforts to unlock the world's genomic data and accelerate breakthroughs in health and conservation biology.

The Assistant Director for Genome Technologies plays a key leadership role in guiding and supervising a team of engineers involved in research and development activities.
APPOINTMENT INFORMATION
Budgeted Salary:
$101,100 - $123,900/year. Salary commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience.
Under California law, the University of California, Santa Cruz is required to post a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role.
The salary shown above is the budgeted amount the University reasonably expects to pay and the salary extended should not exceed this posted amount.

JOB DUTIES
30% - Instructional Lab Planning
- Direct oversight and responsibility for instructional lab operational budget, equipment replacement budgets including longrange financial planning for these areas.
- Develop lab assignments/schedules meeting lab requirements provided by instructors.
- Coordinate with instructional lab committee, develop lab modernization plans, develop cost estimates and implements plans within allocated budget.
- Review and balance course materials expenses and fee income. Update course material fee approval requests to adjust to changing circumstances. Submit corrections to student billing.
- Develop mid to longterm lab modernization plans; is a member, major presenter, and provides staffing support to the Instructional Lab Committee (ILC).
