Position Overview

The Communications Manager supports the Director of Advancement in implementing the fundraising and marketing goals of the organization with an emphasis on media relations, internal and external communications.

This position requires the ability to work well under pressure and with deadlines, supreme organizational skills, attention to detail, and a desire to consistently strive for excellence.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supports the Director of Advancement in executing strategic marketing/communications and advancement plans and serving as a member of the advancement and outreach teams.
  • Leads external communication by managing timelines, print and digital materials, website, social media accounts, and more for The Parish School and The Carruth Center.
  • Oversees internal communication, ensuring staff and parents are aware of activities, changes, etc. within the school.
  • Writes and maintains a strategic communications plan and crisis communication.
  • Creates and edits marketing collateral, invitations, printed and electronic newsletters, annual reports, magazines, and presentations, among other methods and publications.
  • Submits marketing report of Board of Trustees meetings.
  • Photographs and catalogs school and classroom events for marketing materials.
  • Other special projects as assigned.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelors' degree
  • Minimum 5 years' work experience in communications or marketing fundraising

Computer Skills

  • Demonstrated proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience managing websites.
  • Experience with graphic design.
