About the Job:
Sandy Spring Bank (SSB) is a community lender committed to serving our footprint aggressively with highly competitive product offerings. Our home loans department includes in-house processing, underwriting, portfolio and secondary market lending.
As a Home Loans Consultant, you will service the home loan financing needs of our existing client base first. You will acquire and deepen relationships with clients through comprehensive promotion and marketing of home loans products. In addition, you will develop and work with internal centers of influence to expand SSB's client base.
You will be required to deliver strong results in home equity and mortgage, and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, while providing exceptional service throughout the sales process.
You will also insure that we are meeting the client's total financial needs by appropriately cross-selling bank products and services.
MAJOR JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Home
Loan Origination
Branch Coverage
Responsibility for leading all home lending (first mortgage and home equity) activities in an assigned branch territory. Every day commitments include managing to lead turn time, cross sell and participation in branch event.
Weekly activities include book of business reviews, pipeline reviews with the branch team, meeting clients in person or virtually in the branch, lobby leading and interacting with branch client traffic, introduction of clients and COIs to branch team.
Monthly activities include home loans huddles, production reviews, first time home buyer workshops and home loans days.Client Service
Compliance
Required Skills:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Strong knowledge of mortgage and real estate principles spanning the variety of product offerings available to the borrower. Must have or be eligible for NMLS registration. 35 years experience with mortgage is preferred.
- Strong aptitude for sales and business development is necessary to meet established production goals. Must be highly motivated, goaldriven, and possessing outstanding time management and organizational skills.
- Must have strong attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively express ideas orally and in writing.
SPECIFIC PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work requires reasonable mobility in and around the work area. Ability to use standard computer and phone systems is required
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Normal office environment where there is almost no discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise, or other disagreeable elements.
Work includes little or no potential exposure to hazardous conditions.
Must be able to travel to remote company and/or client locations.
