Designs, plans, installs, and/or maintains mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil, architecture and other infrastructure systems. Analyzes current operating conditions and recommends new preventative and proactive methods for maintaining and monitoring facilities systems and/or infrastructure. Evaluates facility standards and practices to improve maintenance procedures and ensure optimal operational efficiency.Conducts preliminary surveys and prepares schematics and work drawings for the construction and maintenance of current, new, or remodeled structures and facilities.
Complies with organizational and governmental safety standards. Participates in the planning and installation of new facility systems.May work with multiple components including HVAC systems, air or liquid cooling systems, CRAC/CRAH units, power distribution units, fire systems, life safety systems, etc.
Required Combination of Knowledge and SkillBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field.
Preferred SkillsBettis Atomic Power Laboratory, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, Kenneth A. Kesselring Site, and Naval Reactors Facility, and at the U.S. Department of Defense-owned Nuclear Power Training Unit-Charleston. FMP employees also have an established presence at numerous shipyards and vendor locations.
