    Description

    Staff High Speed IC Design Engineer

    Lightmatter specializes in developing chips for artificial intelligence computing.     Responsibilities

    • Assist in micro-architecture development alongside chip architects through feasibility studies
    • Collaborate with various design engineering teams (system, digital, analog, photonics) to establish electrical requirements
    • Design analog/mixed-signal blocks focusing on transceivers and broadband circuits interfacing with silicon photonics components
    • Create design simulations and verifications for formal reviews
    • Develop block-level floorplans, mask design views, and conduct reviews
    • Perform post-layout and mixed-signal top-level simulations for integration validation
    • Define production and bench-level test plans
    • Conduct performance validation of circuits in lab settings

    Requirements

    • MS degree with 8+ years of industry experience OR Ph.D. with 5+ years of industry experience focusing on optical or wireline transceiver design
    • Experience in designing Analog-Front-End blocks like trans-impedance amplifiers (TIA) and Tx Driver
    • Familiarity with Tx/Rx equalization techniques and circuits
    • Experience in interfacing with silicon photonic Mach-Zehnder modulators considered a bonus
    • Knowledge of SERDES architectures and implementations
    • Solid grasp of CMOS device characteristics, noise, mismatch, linearity, and design trade-offs
    • Proficiency with Cadence Design Environment
    • Understanding of 3D Electro-Magnetic (EM) simulation tools is beneficial
    • Experience in testing and validating high-speed analog/mixed-signal circuits
    • Proven track record in delivering analog/mixed-signal IPs successfully within tight timelines
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals across diverse functional areas

    We provide competitive compensation. The base salary range for this position across all US locations is $165,000-$200,000. Your specific salary will be determined based on factors such as location, experience, education, and market conditions.
