Duties:


  • As battalion budget analyst, is responsible for program planning, budget and execution of the funding associated with the organization.
  • Interprets budget policy, coordinates, and plans budget activities, and manages resources.
  • Applies advance analytical techniques in the area of program budgeting actions and advises the battalion XO and G8 of possible alternatives/corrective actions to prevent the loss of funding.
  • Manages card delinquencies by keeping command and supervisors informed of pastdue cardholder accounts.
  • Tracks and analyzes actual obligation and expenditure rates and updates budget estimates quarterly to reflect operational changes.
  • Assesses unexpected and unforeseen developments that are encountered and recommends changes in strategy or approaches to solution.

Requirements:


Conditions of Employment:


  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 60085, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Must pass the organization's Personnel Reliability Program which includes credit check, drug screening, polygraph, and psychological evaluation.
  • Must sign a statement attesting to the understanding of CIPMS/DCIPS provisions as indicated in AR
  • Travel may be required up to 20% of the time.
  • Must be willing and able to participate in the organization's operations and training both CONUS and OCONUS.

Specialized experience is defined as:
- (1) providing financial advisory recommendations in accordance with budget policies; AND
- (2) formulating budgetary plans and analysis for an organization.

  • This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS12).
  • You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
  • Budget Administration
  • Budget Execution
  • Concepts, Policies, and Principles of Budget

Education:

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
