BPE Teaching Academy serving grades 6-12.

Our goal is for all Dearborn students to be prepared to enter a purposeful, wealth-building career six years after high school graduation, and to access the incredible STEM opportunities available to them here in Boston.

Dearborn is home to a full-inclusion Emotional Impairment program and a Cape Verdean Creole SEI and SLIFE program.


As a Teaching Academy, our school serves as a training site for both aspiring teachers participating in the Boston Teacher Residency and the Dudley Promise Corps, a neighborhood-based AmeriCorps service program.

All members of our community work collaboratively to enact ambitious teaching and learning in service of student achievement goals.

Experience and Skills:


Qualifications - Required
-
Education: Hold a Bachelor's degree.

  • Hold a valid Massachusetts Teaching License in Humanities at the appropriate grade level AND either SEI endorsement OR dual certification in ESL.
  • Meet all state and federal guidelines in order to be fully licensed and Highly Qualified.
  • Ability to meet the Standards of Effective Teaching established by the Boston Public Schools as outlined above.

Qualifications - Preferred

  • Experience teaching in urban schools.
  • Degree in English or related field.
