As a Materials Coordinator, you will play a key role to aid the flow of raw materials from the dock door to our labs.

They will also participate in providing shipping, receiving, storage and order fulfillment services for samples, inventory, materials, supplies, parts and equipment at the assigned facility(s).


A day in the Life:

  • Perform stockroom duties to include receiving, putaway, stock rotation, cycle counts, replenishments and other functions according to business requirements.
  • Receive materials and/or finished goods on a daily basis. Verify the quality, type and amount of materials received are correct and that the appropriate documentation is present (e.g. packing list).
  • Pick, pack, sort, arrange, count, store, and correctly process items for storage and/or shipment in accordance with established procedures and customer requirements while sustaining a high level of quality to ensure customers receive correct product and in the time requested.
  • Delivers direct shipment orders to end users on the campus as required.
  • Operates various handheld devices such as tablets and barcode scanners
  • Communicates with supervisor/manager any customer issues or potential problems
  • Access & utilize PPD Intranet and SharePoint document management system
  • Follows well defined procedures as outlined by Best Practices, SOP's & work instructions. Take direction from Site Supervisor/Manager (and Team Lead) regarding daily duties.
  • Perform and document actions within company ERP system.
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas

Keys to Success:

Education

  • High / Secondary school diploma or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification

Experience

  • Technical positions may require a certificate
  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to at least 2 years).
  • In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Ability to make commitments, track, and communicate progress, and follow through until completion.
  • Proficient PC skills and ability to efficiently use Windows based software. (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle)
  • Ability to establish and foster positive customer relationships
  • Strong communication skills and proactive approach in all duties
  • Ability to selfmanage and operate independently
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency in completing work assignments.
  • Must possess the operating skills to use hand held devices and learn to enter data in various systems as necessary.
  • Effectiveness in this role also requires some knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory control procedures as well as the ability to understand and interpret team metrics.
