POSITION SCOPE:

The Media and Technical Specialist is to oversee the Media and Technical Ministries of the church and will be responsible for overseeing the church's efforts in using multimedia technology to enhance our worship services.

They will act in accordance with LUMC's core values and mission statement.


POSITION ACCOUNTABILITY:

The Media and Technical Specialist will work under the direct supervision of the Senior Pastor.

They will also work with the Facilities & Events Manager, and Church Secretary to establish priorities for worship and non-worship related media needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serve as a resource to pastors, staff, and Worship Team regarding technical needs to include but not limited to:

• Coordinate the recruitment and training of volunteers in technical/sound booth ministries
• Assure highquality documentation is in place for all equipment to facilitate use by the volunteers
• Assure excellence in the technical aspects of our worship services
• Refine, develop, and oversee the multi-media ministries of the church, focusing primarily on the production of the worship services.

This includes but is not limited to:

• Computer graphics, video production, sound, lighting, etc.
• Format all necessary audiovisual/technical items for weekly worship and other events, utilizing the current software
• Edit videos for use as sermon illustrations, worship enhancement, or church announcements
• Coordinate A/V and sound booth personnel for all worship events, providing onsite coverage in the absence of volunteers
• Produce highquality videos and computer graphic presentations as needed
• Weekly Stage/Sound setup responsibilities including providing technical support for weekly band practices
• Provide media needs for non-worship events throughout the year, including weddings and funerals
• Assure the availability and condition of multi-media equipment within the church (focusing primarily on the equipment for worship services), through the use of preventative maintenance programs and quick repair of equipment
• Assure proper backup procedures are in place and being used for all necessary multi-media equipment (software & hardware). This includes contingency planning for equipment failure
• Work within the allocated funds of the Multi-Media budget
• Must have preauthorization from the Church Secretary with regard to any Social Media postings (i.e. the church website, Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
• Attend church staff meetings as required

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• Have a good understanding and working knowledge of current multimedia presentation technologies, including knowledge of any/all of the following: iOS Apple Products (MacBook), Adobe Reader, Adobe Acrobat DC, OBS Studio (Live-Streaming). Pro-Presenter 6+, 4K Downloader, YouTube Management, Yamaha M7CL Digital Mixing Console (Sound Board), PowerPoint, Facebook Live Streaming, Chrome Desktop, iCloud Management, Photoshop, Illustrator, Gmail, Snipping Tool and other editing software.
• Have good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Selfstarterable to work independently on projects without micromanagement
• Exhibits a mature and personal relationship with Jesus and a teachable spirit
• Must be able to support and work within the mission, vision and values of Lititz United Methodist Church
• Experience in multimedia production management preferred.
