    Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Job Description

    CXO Source has been retained by our private equity client to assist them in finding a Chief Financial Officer for their portfolio company in Dallas, TX. The company is a rapidly growing manufacturer of aftermarket automotive and heavy machinery parts and equipment. The CFO will direct and oversee the financial activities of the corporation, direct the preparation of current financial reports and summaries, and create forecasts predicting future growth.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Serve as a member of the executive leadership team.
    • Hands on CFO with experience in add-on acquisitions.
    • Lead a finance and accounting team that produces best-in-class reporting with a focus on accuracy and timeliness of all required financial statements and related information/schedules.
    • Assess organizational performance against both the annual budget and the company's long- term strategy.
    • Develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the CEO and other executive management and make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations.
    • Partner with the IT leadership in Company's IT platforms including ERP systems, General Ledger and subsidiary systems, and other platforms deemed essential to the business.
    • Support departmental financial reporting and budgeting to department heads.
    • Review, maintain and recommend KPIs and update as necessary.
    • Engage the Board of Directors and its committees around issues, trends, and changes in the operating model(s) and operational delivery. Ensure CFO fiduciary responsibilities to the Board are fulfilled.
    • Assist in establishing annual objectives and meeting agendas, and selecting and engaging outside consultants (auditors, insurance advisors, legal counsel).
    • Oversee long-term budgetary planning and costs management in alignment with company's strategic plan.
    • Participation in key decisions pertaining to strategic initiatives, operating model and operational execution.
    • Review financial planning reports; monthly profit and loss forecast (vs. budget), cash flow forecasts.
    • Complete analysis of financial results; develop recommendations (strategic and tactical).
    • Develop and execute analysis of various business initiatives (e.g. opening or closing new
    • operations, asset acquisition, new product development).
    • Oversee the formation of the capital budget and monitor activity. Make recommendations to changes to the plan as necessary.
    • Lead the development of financial planning and analysis exercise/reports for all operations.
    • Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed.
    • Oversee cash, investment and asset management.
    • Oversee financing strategies and activities and serve as primary liaison with all banking, lending and investor relationships.
    • Develop and utilize forward-looking, predictive models and activity-based financial analyses to provide insight into the organization's operations and business plans.
    • Coordinate the development and monitoring of budgets for all sectors of the Company.
    • Develop financial business plans and forecasts.
    • Participate in corporate policy development as a member of the executive management team.
    • Confer with audit firm to remain up to date on audit best practices and state and federal laws, including taxation.
    • Supervise the accounting department to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting systems and functions.
    • Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures.
    • Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of financial and management reporting;
    • oversees the preparation and communication of monthly and annual financial statements.
    • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions.
    • Manage the company's insurance programs.
    • Travel Requirements: 15 – 20%
