    SENIOR PARK AIDE (SEASONAL) - SANTA CRUZ DISTRICT / WILDER RANCH STATE PARK

    Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKS program. Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKS recipient in the comments area on the application. Applicants must submit a verification of their CalWORKS eligibility status, which may include the most recent Notice of Action showing TANF eligibility or a copy of your last aid check stub.     The reporting location for this position is Wilder Ranch State Park in Santa Cruz, CA. The Visitor Services Senior Park Aide works under the lead of the Staff Services Analyst and under the supervision of the Pajaro Coast Sector Supervising State Park Peace Officers.

    Senior Park Aides are responsible for performing visitor service operations in the Santa Cruz Pajaro Coast Sector with an emphasis on Wilder Ranch State Park.

    This position is focused on both project and retail work to support the visitor services operations and non-profit partners.

    The Senior Park Aide (Seasonal) will assist with kiosk responsibilities when needed; checks park facilities and reports problems; handles minor visitor complaints; explains park policies and regulations to the visiting public; answers routine questions from the public; coordinates occasional housekeeping activities; may give instruction in the safe and proper use of housekeeping supplies; inspects completed work for quality control and conformance to established standards; trains lower-level seasonal employees; and assists in campfire programs and educational walks.

    Working Conditions

    Field and office work. Daily and frequent use of power tools, hand tools, and vehicles. Daily use of a computer and variety of office software applications. Sitting, standing, hiking, and carrying heavy loads will be required. May involve some exposure to aggressive visitors
