JOB SUMMARY:

Properly cultivate landscaping in appearance and function and maintain outdoor grounds as needed.





JOB STATUS:
Non-exempt


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Landscaping
  • Provides detailed care of lawns, landscaping, and other areas of the ground's appearance.
  • Assists in landscape and hardscape by planting, mowing, raking, pruning, etc.
  • Applies pesticide and fertilizer to facilities to enhance growth.
  • Assists in trimming trees, cutting and splitting firewood
  • Responsible for keeping inventory and tools organized and in good condition.
  • Requires working outside in extreme hot or cold conditions
  • Assists in snow removal and other tasks as assigned including after normal work hours.
  • Maintenance
  • Keep walkways safe and clear of debris and snow.
  • Assists in general building maintenance
  • Assists in the removal and collection of waste
  • Assists in maintaining fire clearances around all buildings and roadways.
  • Clean debris from roofs and gutters.
  • Maintains all outdoor furniture.
  • Assist with loading or unloading trucks and moving furniture/equipment as needed.
  • Safety
  • Ensures facilities is in safe working condition and reports potential safety issues and recommends appropriate changes.
  • Ensures tools and maintenance equipment are in working order and keeps maintenance buildings clean and organized.
  • Operate different tools and equipment such as golf carts, company vehicles, heavy equipment, forklifts, etc. in a safe manner.
  • Complies with factory specifications in relationship to equipment and material, and assures that all materials are handled according to factory recommendations and training.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:


  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Ability to hear from God and pray for people, both in person and over the phone.
  • Skill running mowers, string trimmers, hedge bars, blowers, etc.,
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to operate tools and machinery.
  • Sufficient physical agility to work from ladders or on roof if necessary.
  • Assume responsibility for initiating a pleasant atmosphere by displaying a professional attitude through performance, appearance, and demeanor.
  • Actively supports and participates in the staff spiritual life activities.
  • Regular, timely attendance.
  • Signed statement of faith.
  • Requires ability to work weekends and overtime as needed.
  • Technical ability and capability.
  • A selfstarter.

  • Excellent people service skills, with the ability to provide service and streamline processes without compromising the integrity of the department or Forest Home and its policies and procedures.
  • Able to accomplish assigned projects utilizing good communication, project management, time management and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform high quality work.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
