Hourly range:
$25-30 based on experience.

As we rapidly expand operations, we are seeking a Mold Repair Technician to join our team and play a crucial role in our Tooling department.


Job Purpose


Mold Repair Technician is a critical role at United that consists of a wide variety of tasks that are vital to our mold manufacturing efforts.

A proficient individual with hands-on expertise, a thorough understanding of mold repair and preventive maintenance procedures (PM), and strong planning and communication abilities is essential for this role.


Responsibilities:


  • Perform hands on tasks using blueprints, written, and verbal work instructions.
  • Interface with other employees to assist in the routing, planning, work instructions, problem solving, and expediting of mold maintenance and components on assigned jobs. Report and log work time accurately to jobs.
  • Develop a plan for your tasks, identify risks, establish work priorities, set goals, regularly assess the progress on mold repair/pm and report issues that will affect mold performance.
  • Communicate with your supervisor as needed to confirm the availability of required components and ensure adherence to the timeline for addressing complications.
  • Assemble the mold and get it ready for testing. Verify fit and functionality of all mechanisms, sliding components, and cooling system.
  • Complete inspections of the cavities to verify proper seal offs, dimensions, and finish.
  • Troubleshoot issues that arise and develop a plan to resolve it with your supervisor.
  • Make adjustments of components to ensure the mold will perform in testing and production.
  • Document all adjustments/changes in IQMS.
  • Perform mold disassembly/assembly and machining tasks to develop/fine tune molds, repair molds, and assist others to complete repairs requested.
  • Participate in continuous improvements efforts to improve operations and mold process.

  • Steel polishing
  • Welding
- car mechanics
- machine shop

  • Injection molding
  • Knowledge of mold design types, ex: fit and function of various types of actions, lifters, ejection system, mold cooling components, latch lock systems, hot runner systems, mold interlocks, guiding systems, etc.
  • A range of handson precision machining skills on grinders, mills, lathes, and other metal working equipment.
  • Experience using all of the tools required when assembling, hoisting, and moving molds.
  • Good basic computer skills with the ability to be trained to use software/IGMS to track status and log work time and work completed.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

Experience level:

  • Entry with mechanical background up to 5 years.

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime
  • Weekends as needed

Education:


  • High school or equivalent (preferred)
