Position Overview:
Performs technical duties associated with dissection and preparation of tissues for histological processing.
Typical Physical Demands:
- Requires full range of body motion, manual and finger dexterity and eyehand coordination, sitting or standing for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and carry items up to 30 lbs.
Typical Working Conditions:
Exposure to toxic substances, communicable diseases, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a medical laboratory.

None
Primary Responsibilities:
- Performs tissue description, dissection, and blocking
- Reviews specimens for completeness and accuracy including site and patient identification. Operates a tissue processing analyzer including maintenance, quality control, and troubleshooting

Required Qualifications:
- AAS degree in a related science as approved by an accrediting agency
- NYS Histotech License or higher
Preferred Qualification:
- 1+ years of experience
