Private Equity Portfolio Manager
42 North Partners (42NP) is a single-family office that supports the Jandernoa family.

42NP delivers financial and support services across the firm's three pillars:
investments, entrepreneurship, and community. 42NP is located in a premier work environment in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing private equity fund relationships which are central to 42NP's investment strategy. The portfolio consists of over 15 general partner (GP) relationships across North America with nearly 50 investments in individual private equity funds and direct coinvestments.
  • Participate in the development of the overall strategy of the private equity portfolio, which includes both private equity fund commitments and direct coinvestments.
  • Provide input and risk assessment around portfolio construction including the sizing and pacing of fund commitments and allocation to GPs, regions, industries, and sectors.
  • Analyze 42NP's coinvestment strategy and opportunity set.
  • Participate in the Investment Committee including delivering presentations on the private equity strategy and portfolio.
  • Responsible for managing assigned and developing new private equity GP relationships.
  • Source, evaluate, analyze, and monitor new private equity funds and co‐investment opportunities.
  • Manage the investment team's private equity pipeline.
  • Actively engage with GPs in generating coinvestment opportunities.
  • Lead private equity due diligence efforts and manage the scorecard review and approval process for private equity funds and coinvestments.
  • Provide recommendations of new private equity funds to the CIO.
  • Manage the review of private equity operating agreements, subscription agreements, amendments, and other legal documents, provisions, and terms.
  • Develop a strong network of private equity GPs, limited partners, and other investment professionals.
  • Participate in GP quarterly updates, annual meetings, relevant industry conferences, and investment presentations for fund and coinvestment opportunities.
  • Monitor and manage ongoing private equity fund activities, performance, and action items.
  • Enhance the investment team's tools, processes, and analysis around due diligence, benchmarking, fund performance, and underlying portfolio company metrics.
  • Perform ongoing, investmentrelated tasks including market research, detailed portfolio reporting, and monitoring industry trends.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree desired
  • 8+ years of investment experience in private equity markets
