Summer Camp Safety and Operations Manager
**Seasonal Position
- 40hrs/week; $2326/hr.**

Job Overview:
Responsibilities:
Safety Oversight:
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety protocols and guidelines for camp activities.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments of facilities, equipment, and program areas.
Emergency Preparedness:
- Establish and communicate emergency response procedures to staff and ensure all personnel are trained.
- Coordinate and conduct emergency drills to ensure staff readiness
Health and Wellness:
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure camper health forms are complete and uptodate.
- Oversee the administration of medications and medical care in accordance with camp policies.
Staff Training:
- Conduct safety training sessions for all camp staff, including counselors, instructors, and operational team members.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to staff regarding safety best practices
Logistical Coordination:
- Work closely with the operations team to plan and coordinate camp logistics, including transportation, equipment distribution, and scheduling.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards
Communication and Reporting:
- Maintain open communication channels regarding safety updates and procedures.
- Prepare and submit incident reports, ensuring accurate documentation and analysis.
Quality Assurance:
- Conduct regular assessments of camp operations to identify areas for safety improvement.
- Implement enhancements to improve overall camp safety and efficiency
Collaboration with Authorities:
- Build and maintain positive relationships with local emergency services, healthcare providers, and regulatory agencies.
- Coordinate with external entities during emergencies or as required.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Must have an active EMT licensure or other similar experience
- Bachelor's degree in safety management, risk management, or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in safety management, preferably in a camp or outdoor recreation setting.
- Current certifications in CPR, First Aid, and AED.
- Certification in safety management (e.g., Certified Safety Professional) is highly desirable.
Leadership and Organizational Skills:
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to oversee and coordinate multiple aspects of camp safety.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills
Communication Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to convey safety information effectively to diverse audiences
Problem-Solving:
- Proven problemsolving skills and the ability to make sound decisions in highpressure situations.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail
Team Collaboration:
- Ability to work collaboratively with camp leadership, department heads, and staff members.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture.
