Working Schedule:7 AM to 03:30 PM (Monday - Friday)


Preferred shift, not mandatory:

On-call status for 24 hours a day and seven days a week including all Federal Holidays and be within 30 minutes of the facility to support these emergent cases.


Summary:


The Certified Auto transfusionist is responsible for providing autotransfusion services in accordance with the specifications outlined in the contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

The Auto transfusionist will be part of a contracted team providing scheduled and on-call coverage for autotransfusion procedures at the VA Medical Center.


Job Duties, and Responsibilities:


  • Autotransfusion Services:
  • Provide autotransfusion services for scheduled cases and be available oncall for emergent cases.
  • Perform autotransfusion procedures in accordance with established protocols and best practices.
  • Licensure and Credentialing:
  • Maintain a full and unrestricted license for the services covered by the contract.
  • Submit evidence of current, full, and unrestricted licenses, registration, certification, and other relevant credentials for verification.
  • Undergo credentialing and privileging as per VHA Directive and VHA Directive
  • Technical Proficiency:
  • Demonstrate technical proficiency in the skills necessary to fulfill the government's requirements for autotransfusion procedures.
  • Stay current with advancements in autotransfusion technology and practices.
  • Compliance and Education:
  • Adhere to all bylaws, rules, and regulations of the VAMC.
  • Complete and provide evidence of continuing medical education (CME) and Certified Education Unit (CEU) requirements.
  • Attend and successfully complete mandatory training, including ACLS, BLS, EHR, and other VArequired courses.
  • Infection Control Measures:
  • Provide proof of required infection control measures within five (5) calendar days after contract award and prior to the first duty shift.
  • Ensure compliance with tuberculosis testing, immunizations, and OSHA regulations.
  • National Provider Identification (NPI):
  • Obtain and maintain the required NPI as per HIPAA standards.
  • Conflict of Interest:
  • Identify and communicate conflicts of interest to the Contracting Officer (CO) and Contracting Officer Representative (COR) at the time of quotation and throughout the contract period.
  • Citizenship-Related Requirements:
  • Certify compliance with legal provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Act.
  • Ensure compliance with "E-Verify" requirements.
  • HHS OIG List Review:
  • Review the HHS OIG List of Excluded Individuals/Entities to ensure that proposed contract personnel are not listed.
  • Indemnification and Tort Liability:
  • Be liable for, and indemnify and hold harmless the Government against, actions or claims arising from the fault, negligence, or acts of the Contractor, its agents, or employees.
  • Notify legal counsel and/or insurance carrier in the event of a tort claim.
  • Key Personnel Responsibilities:
  • Ensure a minimum of three Certified Autotransfusionists for scheduled and asneeded coverage.
  • Provide coverage during personnel vacancies and promptly notify the COR of any schedule changes.
  • Non-Personal Healthcare Services:
  • Acknowledge that the Contractor and all contract personnel are not considered VA employees for any purpose.
  • Inherent Government Functions:
  • Avoid performing inherently governmental functions, including determining agency policy, directing government employees, and approving contractual documents.
  • Employee Status and Benefits:
  • Ensure the provision of workers' compensation, professional liability insurance, health examinations, income tax withholding, and social security payments for all staff providing services under the contract.
  • Annual OIG Statement:
  • Provide annual statements as required by the HHS OIG.

Essential Requirements:


  • All licenses held by the key personnel working on this contract shall be full and unrestricted license to the services covered by this contract issued in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
  • Contract personnel shall submit evidence of current, full, and unrestricted licenses, registration, certification, and/or other relevant credentials for verification prior to appointment and throughout the employment process, as requested by the COR
  • The Auto transfusionist shall have a certification as an Auto transfusionist.
  • Credentialing and privileging are to be completed in accordance with VHA Directive and VHA Directive
  • Contractor shall provide the COR copies of current CMEs as required or requested by the facility. Contract personnel(s) registered or certified by national/medical associations shall continue to meet the minimum standards for
  • CME to remain current.
  • Training (ACLS, BLS, EHR and VA MANDATORY)

$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
