Description
A well-established secondary aluminum foundry in Chicago Heights is hiring a full-time, experienced warehouse/forklift operator position.


Responsible for executing the daily raw material warehouse operations plan, in support of production execution and sales execution within the Trialco plant.

Will support cross-functional initiatives associated with production execution, sales execution, quality, inventory management and safety.

Serves as the on-site raw material warehouse operation lead, with responsibility for overall resource coordination and execution in accordance with a defined operational plan.

Provides leadership for warehouse personnel and takes initiative to ensure consistent alignment with the operations plan through clear, consistent and timely communication of work expectations to warehouse personnel following a formalized work assignment approach.

Warehouse management and coordination include, but are not limited to; safety management, production fulfillment, inbound freight management, warehouse and production system data maintenance, people and resource planning and management, warehouse space maximization, data entry, scrap testing via mobile spectrometer, raw material inventory management, project execution as assigned.

This position requires a deep understanding of warehouse operations, production fulfillment, logistics and warehouse operations systems maintenance, the ability to embed best practices into daily operations and the ability to drive for results aligned with operations plan.


SUMMARY
The Raw Materials Supervisor is responsible for daily execution of the warehouse operations plan.

The Supervisor is responsible for day-to-day operations within the raw material warehouse including; safety management, production fulfillment, inbound freight management, warehouse and production system data maintenance, people and resource planning and management, raw material warehouse space maximization, raw material inventory management, project execution as assigned.

Provides initiative leadership for raw material warehouse personnel and cross-functional projects.


SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinates and oversees the daytoday operations and resource allocation in accordance with the operations plan within the raw material warehouse.
  • Clearly communicates daytoday work responsibilities and ensures staff accountability to company policies and standard work execution.
  • Conducts performance evaluations for assigned staff timely and in accordance with company policy; corrects and redirects staff in accordance with daily needs in accordance with daily operations plan.
  • Manages employment actions including timecard resolution, discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitors departmental performance, identifying and facilitating opportunities to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Manages daily aspects of the department and its staff to ensure daily work is completed, department and company goals are met.
  • Collaborates cross functionally to execute, and coordinate programs and projects.
  • Manage various operational performance work flows relative to KPI's and provides corrective action suggestions when appropriate.
  • Manages production fulfillment, raw material processing and timely receipt of inbound product.
  • Manages conflicts and resolves complaints about or within the department.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to create and present ideas, reports, and budgets in various formats.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to assign and delegate tasks.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Five (5) years of related experience in the industry required.
  • Knowledge of the philosophy, mission, leadership, and planning needs of the organization preferred.
