The company is based in Channelview, Texas just east of Houston. RUS Industrial has expanded its footprint, capabilities and manpower substantially and is now an experienced, well-known and highly qualified licensed electrical contractor working on industrial and oilfield projects across the United States as well as an API/ISO/ASME Certified fabrication and coatings company providing quality products and services to industrial and oilfield customers worldwide.

    Role Description

    This is a full-time on-site role for a Payroll Benefits Specialist. The Payroll Benefits Specialist will be responsible for day-to-day tasks associated with payroll benefits administration including processing, reconciling, and auditing payroll for accuracy. The Payroll Benefits Specialist will also handle employee benefits inquiries, assist with benefits enrollments and reconciliations, and be responsible for customer service related to payroll and benefits.

    Pays employees by calculating pay and deductions and issuing checks for weekly payroll.

    Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data into the payroll system, as well as retrieving data when necessary.

    Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers.

    Assist with monthly, quarterly, or year-end calculations of bonuses and other salary-based compensation.

    Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information and interacting with HR.

    Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.

    Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.

    Updating payroll records by entering any changes to employee information or benefits such as job title changes, exemptions, and deductions

    Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures, and reporting needed changes.

    Prepare and process claims, enrollments, and other benefits filings to facilitate benefits administration.

    Make sure the employees understand the company's benefits packages, the administration system, and their rights and options.

    Assists in the planning and administration of the annual open enrollment period.

    Plans, conducts, and reports results of audits to ensure all enrollments are accurate and that dependent information is correct for each employee.

    Addresses benefit inquiries to ensure timely and accurate resolutions.

    Resolves discrepancies between carriers and payroll.

    Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Must have 1-3 years' experience in payroll and general understanding of benefit administration.

    Knowledge of general accounting experience a plus with an emphasis on accounts payable.

    Strong organizational and analytical skills are required with an emphasis on attention to detail.

    Ability to handle sensitive data with confidentiality.

    Proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)

    Must have a positive attitude and be self-motivated.

    Familiarity with Microsoft GP is a plus.
