SummaryThe employee will lead cross-functional teams and project managers to optimize cell design, plant flow, individual work cells and manage projects to minimize waste and maximize utilization of resources.
Optimizes lot sizing for flow and customer demand cadence to maximize throughput at minimal costPrepares inventory analysis to ID optimal build sizes and safety stock to order volatilitySet targets for production schedules and coordinate services to maximize productivityCollaborate with supply chain, production and sales to solve variability on input material and part handling opportunitiesDevelop production schedules consistent with production requirementsWork with team leaders to ensure the accuracy of the electronic scheduling boards (ESB)
Ensure accurate and timely processing of production order rescheduling and exceptionsLead daily production meeting and regular company-wide capacity meetingExecute production schedules to maximize resource utilization and product flow across 300 CNC machines in 4 facilities and resolve problems both in-person and remotelyCell design/layout and optimization:
Works with production to optimize part families based on forecast load and process within production cellsWorks with automation engineering team on unattended plan for existing product families Works with programming and process engineering teams on load balancing, workholding to optimize takt timeWorks with other departments to develop design and production standards to meet price, inventory, throughput and utilization targetsFor individual work cells:Works with production and engineering to design efficient production processes and workflowsMonitors operations with an eye toward improving utilization, productivity and efficiencyImplements controls to monitor costs and minimize production issuesEnsures that processes are designed to ensure that products meet quality standards.
Reduces waste and addresses production issuesUtilizes Vimana and tool monitoring and management to identify areas of opportunity to minimize production lossesProject management:Coordinates cross-functional Dynamic Continuous Improvement teams to assign focus, monitor progressAssists Continuous Improvement team with projects as neededCompletes and coordinates time studies as neededWorks with Quality Continuous Improvement on process variability, cost of poor quality, and scrapCoordinates cross-functional Kaizen events to involve wide ranging perspectives in process improvementCoordinates widespread implementation of successes from pilot cells and areasWorks with account management, process planner, manufacturing teams, and engineeringIdentifies training gaps and mentors team leaders in foundations of Lean & WastesKey RolesEvaluates current manufacturing practices and identify those needing improvementMinimizes losses within each production processIdentifies procedures and tools to improve productivityOptimizes processes to minimize inventory Execute production schedules to maximize resource utilization and product flow across 300 CNC machines in 4 facilities and resolve problems both in-person and remotely RequirementsQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Prior experience in a manufacturing environment and understanding of quality systems is preferred. A Bachelors' Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related Engineering field, or equivalent experience, is recommended. Microsoft Project and Office literacy, strong computer skills, and a strong analytical aptitude is required.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
The employee must possess the ability to communicate effectively with all internal personnel and external customers in both written and oral form.
