    Department Overview:

    Monona Catering, the exclusive full-service catering company at the Frank Lloyd Wright Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center, is interested in discussing potential employment opportunities with you. Monona Catering offers catering services for groups of sizes ranging from 2 to 2000 or more, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, and everything in between.

    Position Summary/Job Duties:
    • Lead cooks will have a working knowledge of all equipment in the kitchen and the safe use of that equipment. They will train cooks to properly operate the same.
    • They will assist with plating to ensure the finest presentation and food quality goes out to our customers.
    • The Lead Cook will assist in organizing the timing of hot and cold food preparation and delivery of all food throughout the building to ensure the functions commence on time.
    • Lead Cook must be able to produce all cold side menu items, as well as hot side, which includes stocks, soups, and sauces.
    • Lead Cooks can supervise cooks, extras, and stewards when necessary.
    • Our operation requires that all kitchen staff are very flexible in their job duties. Cooks will plate salads, and entrees, make sauces, carve in public, make buffet trays, keep our work areas neat, and assist the Executive Chef and Culinary Managers to produce only the finest foods and maintain a clean and sanitary working environment.
    • Assist the Executive Chef, Culinary Managers, and Purchasing Staff with menu development.
    • Maintain walk-in refrigeration storage and organization, properly identifying and dating all prepared foods.
    Qualifications:

    5 or more years of experience in cooking within the food service industry, 2 years of experience in banquet cooking, and one or more years of supervision.
