Ray & Son Mechanical (Contractors) is a full-service commercial mechanical contractor serving clients in multiple states. Our team consists of HVAC-R, Plumbing, and Electrical crews. We typically maintain a full-time workforce of 40 to 45 people, depending on our workload at the time. Our staff is very dedicated to what they do and are in it "for the long haul." MEP Project Estimator to join our growing team

This is a hybrid position that would require the applicant to be able to commute to our Valdosta or Nashville locations. This position could require some out-of-state travel that is paid for by the company._

Pay Range:
$100,000 to $130,000 a year, depending on experience

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Estimate projects
Manage bids from prebid to postaward
Provide detailed recaps to review with management before bidding
Assist in the development of the project schedule of values and construction tasks
Attend bid walks and/or bid meetings
Assist project managers with change order estimating and compilation
Assist in material pricing and buyout
Assist field management in various support operations
Maintain a record of individual bids with win/loss records
Work with upper management to assist in developing bidding strategies
Other various tasks assigned by upper management

Job Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in project estimation
Ability to perform material and labor takeoffs to identify material quantities, labor hours, and cost
Competitive trade bids comparison experience
Ability to assemble and submit proposals directly to clients
Ability to review preliminary quotes and prebid estimates
Attention to detail when analyzing blueprints to prepare accurate specific takeoffs
Ability to work with mathematical concepts (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) as conversions
Excellent knowledge of Electronic Takeoff Systems (AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Builder Trend, etc.)
Intermediate or Advanced experience with the computer
Ability to work independently and know when to consult other members of the team
Excellent communication skills (written/verbal)
Excellent critical thinking and problemsolving skills
Must be highly organized and detailoriented
Ability to excel in a fastpaced environment
Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
