We are currently seeking a skilled Construction Superintendent to join our team and oversee the successful execution of our commercial projects.
Position Overview:
The Construction Superintendent will be responsible for managing and coordinating all on-site activities during the construction phase of commercial projects in Knoxville, Tennessee. This includes overseeing subcontractors, ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets, and maintaining a safe working environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commercial construction, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all on-site activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
Supervise and mentor on-site staff, including foremen, laborers, and subcontractors.
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality standards are met and safety protocols are followed.
Monitor project progress and identify any issues or delays, implementing solutions as needed.
Review and interpret construction drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and regulatory agencies.
Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, progress photos, and change orders.
Enforce company policies and procedures, including safety regulations and quality control measures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques.
Experience with scheduling software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera) and construction management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid).
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
OSHA 30-Hour certification and other relevant industry certifications preferred.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
