SUMMARY

  • Manages and coordinates all mechanical, electrical, and facility maintenance activities at the plant by performing the following duties personally:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Mange and supervise the group to excel in FlexSteel Safety We Care Program
  • Determine needs for maintenance and repairs through regular preventative and predictive maintenance schedules, personal inspections, observation, and from requests received from other departments.
  • Manages and supervise scheduling and coordination of facility, equipment, and utility shutdowns utilizing approved business tools and systems and issues daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual schedules as required.
  • Develop and manage maintenance department budget. Report budget vs. actual costs.
  • Manage use of/ monitor cost effective computerized preventative and predictive maintenance, schedules, procedures, and spare parts inventory.
  • Establish, monitor, and maintain Maintenance Department Budget
  • Manage maintenance preventative and predictive maintenance, procedures, scheduled and spare parts inventory levels.
  • Establish effective internal and external training of maintenance personnel.
  • Analyze cost and /or recurring items of maintenance.
  • Provide reliable labor time and cost estimates associated with maintenance activities.
  • Set reliable "return to service" schedules for down equipment.
  • Monitor condition of facilities, identify and recommend maintenance needs and options.
  • Maintain and update all safety related equipment in conjunction with HSEQ Group
  • Maintain and update all security devices on site in conjunction with HSEQ and IT Groups
  • Support Capital Project activities as required including engineering, planning, quotation and budgeting processes.
  • Ensure Master Equipment List (MEL) and Equipment Capability Statements are properly updated, and issue routine and special reports as required.
  • Manage new equipment installation and start up projects as required and directed by group manager.
  • Ensure consistency with companywide practices.
  • Perform any other tasks as directed by Supervisor

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises 515 Maintenance Coordinator and Electrical, Mechanical, Facility and Shift Maintenance Technicians. Carries out management/supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE
and QUALIFICATIONS

  • Fouryear degree in an Engineering Discipline plus 1015 years' experience; or High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus 1520 years' experience
  • The experience must be in plant manufacturing machines, equipment, controls, and office facilities and at least ten years supervisory experience.
  • Strong Communication and Management/Supervision Skills
  • Requires highly developed technical and mechanical skills.
  • This position requires strong written and verbal communication skills such as the ability to read and comprehend various instructions. Ability to effectively present information in oneonone and small group situations to management and other groups as well as talking and dealing tactfully and courteously with fellow employees and vendors/contractors.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, equipment and building drawings, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management or other groups.

  • Able to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Projects, and Outlook and able to use Auto Cad and / or Solid
