- Must be a Mechanical Engineer who can become the knowledgeable engineer for all mechanical portions of the LRSO Program's carriage equipment.
- Responsible for understanding the requirements and the design.
- Reviews proposed design updates, planned test events, and test results.
- Ensures that tests demonstrate requirements are satisfied and provide technical feedback on the plans, reports, and designs reviewed.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must have an active Secret clearance. Must be able to maintain clearance at required level.
- Must be able to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance.
- Must have a MS degree in Mechanical Engineering. BS in Mechanical Engineering plus experience may be substituted for this requirement.
- Must have 20 plus years of mechanical engineering experience.
- Must have experience in advanced programs.

Torch Technologies is seeking a Carriage Equipment Mechanical Engineer to join the LRSO team at Eglin AFB, FL. The U.S. Air Force is developing a new LRSO nuclear missile.The service plans to field the LRSO by 2030 to replace the current, General Dynamics (now Raytheon) AGM-129A Advanced Cruise Missile (ACM) that originally entered service in 1991.
In May 2021, the Air Force awarded an Engineering and Manufacturing Design (EMD) contract to Raytheon Missiles and Defense, Tucson, Arizona.
The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) Nuclear Weapons Acquisition Division (AFNWC/NDB), which is resident at Eglin AFB, Florida, is the System Program Office (SPO) responsible for the acquisition.
