LOCATION:
King Hanger, Eglin AFB, FL - On Site
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
This Field Engineer V position is in support of the Eagle Passive Active Warning Survivability System (EPAWSS) for the F-15 Modification program and assists mechanical technicians
Supervises a unit and/or participates in assignments such as the design, installation, operation, maintenance, and evaluation of equipment composing a complex instrumentation system
Exercises independent judgment in resolving maintenance and operational problems in connection with complex systems, subsystems, and components involving equipment installation
GENERAL DUTIES:
The Field Engineer will work closely with degreed engineers and will be given instructions either written or verbally to design and prepare various hardware and brackets required in support of the EPAWSS for the F-15
Field Engineer will exercise independent judgment in resolving maintenance and operational problems in connection with components involving equipment and/or wiring installation
Will create designs using Auto-CAD and/or Solid Works drawing package to show mechanical details, in particular aircraft wiring brackets, and/or aircraft wiring hardware/layouts
Mechanical layouts will be used to construct various supports
Work requires an extensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical nomenclature, CAD/Solid Works techniques, and conventional design practices
Must have a good understanding of materials, scaling, and mathematical computations
OTHER DUTIES:
Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor as necessary to support contract/mission support requirements in job-related areas
May be required to work on par with degreed engineers in lab or fieldwork, prepare technical reports and correspondence, and provide guidance and supervision for technicians in activities associated with an independent operation or facility
May be required to perform housekeeping duties to assigned work areas.
May provide guidance for technicians in activities associated with aircraft modifications
Job Requirements EDUCATION/
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Must be a technical or service school graduate and have eight years applicable experience
Must have a good understanding of engineering practices and principles and knowledge of related sciences and disciplines
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
Supports E-OMS operational objectives; observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies
Supports Process Improvement
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work assignments can be both indoor and outdoor under various environmental conditions
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Required to bend, walk, stand and lift, pull, or carry items of weight and size commensurate with job requirements
