Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities including the following.

  • Recruits, interviews, hires, orients, trains, appraises, supervises, disciplines and when necessary, terminates subordinate staff.
  • Assist in the Supervision, guidance, and engagement of Maintenance employees. Provides oversight of staff and facilities.
Train and lead others to perform preventive maintenance functions maintaining standards and minimize the services of outside contractors. However, when needed and as directed by Director of Facilities, manage vendor and contractor relationships proactively, and with diplomacy.

  • Inspects agency sites and makes recommendations on repairs and upgrades of physical plant.
  • Places construction work for agency sites out for bid and ensures contractors adhere to terms contained in signed contract.
  • Inspects agency facilities on a regular basis to ensure they are being properly maintained and kept clean.
  • Assist and support, develop and implement plans to keep the property, equipment, and grounds in an excellent state of repair and working order.
  • Completes special projects as requested.
  • Assist and provide input on the assignment and tracking of tasks through the work orders.
  • Ensure an adequate supply of products is on hand for daily requirements and emergency maintenance situations.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety regulations and fire prevention programs.
  • Maintain accurate records regarding routine inspections of all mechanical equipment, safe handling procedures of chemicals, and daily work/project logs.
  • Oversee the maintenance of equipment.
  • Make pickups of materials for repairs.
  • General Maintenance and Repair of Buildings, Facilities, Equipment, and Grounds
  • Manages agency fleet of vehicles.
  • Develops and implements Quality Assurance plan.
  • Supervise employee responsibilities as defined by union collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications/Skills/Licenses/Competencies

  • Knowledge of building maintenance; fire protection system, plumbing, heating, electrical, generators, painting, general vehicle maintenance and general carpentry repairs.
  • Time management and planning skills.
  • Ability to read and extract information from drawings.
  • Must be available for overtime all year long as needed.
  • Ability to climb ladders and carry materials up to 60 pounds.
  • Previous experience in maintenance, be highly skilled with various hand and power tools, and be able to read blueprints and repair manuals.
  • Effectively use a variety of hand and power tools; operate appropriate lifts as needed to perform duties of the job; perform a variety of physical labor including climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, reaching, and standing for long periods of time; lift and carry boxes, tools, follow oral and/or written instructions; communicate effectively in both oral and written form; maintain work logs and service requests; establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license
  • Willingness to work outside (if necessary) in inclement weather.

Education and Experience:


  • High School Diploma
  • A minimum of 3 years facility maintenance experience

Pay:
$ $26.00 per hour
