JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Accountant is a key team member who focuses on daily accounting, financial reporting, asset analytics and safeguarding investor's assets.
In addition, this role will support the leadership team with the identification, development and implementation of processes that will help support the growth of the business.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monthly Property/Corporate Financials
Perform financial statement reviews and oversee preparation of reconciliation of all key accounts
Work with Regional Property Mangers to ensure the identification of all month end accruals
Calculate, record and review all property and corporate accounting journals
Perform monthly variance analysis to ensure accurate financials
Provide/review monthly reporting package to senior management, investors and key stakeholders
Monthly Operational Accounting
Ensure property cash is accurately tracked and recorded
Review and ensure accurate reporting of monthly revenue and expenses
Calculate and monitor key accruals for property taxes, insurance and other expenses
Partner with asset and property managers to provide financial support and knowledge to ensure effective and efficient asset performance
Other
Participate in the identification, development and implementation of process improvements that streamline daily accounting functions and property operations
Assist with preparation of requested schedules for annual audits and tax compliance reporting
Perform other duties as assigned or requested to support company operations.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum of 4-6 years of real estate or full financial accounting experience
Working knowledge of Real Page or other property management software.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel
Strong attention to detail
Self-starter with the ability to work independently
Strong communication and customer service skills
