- Third of Four levels of CNC machining center operator. Setups involve familiarity with and understanding of program formats involving combinations of operations such as profile and contour milling, boring, recessing, turning, drilling, threading, etc., Operates numerically controlled machine tools to perform a complex series of progressive machining operations on a diversified line of work to close and exacting tolerances and finish specifications requiring a high degree of skill. May check parts for conformance to specifications and run and set up more than one unit simultaneously.
- Set-up and operate CNC machining centers in multiple cells that include but are not limited to mills, lathes, presses, routers etc.
- Set up and operate various types of machine tools and perform progressive machining operations for parts, tools and machines with close to exacting tolerances
- Perform advanced setup operations
- Work with team leads and management personnel to lead teams and projects of varying scope and work cells
- Load, operate and manufacture a variety of parts using CNC machining centers to make custom parts according to customer orders and instructions
- Checks parts for conformance to customer specifications.
- Maintain count and perform packaging duties as required
- Participate in cross training activities to become knowledgeable of equipment/process within the department
- Make suggestions to improve production and order processing efficiency
- Assist with training other team members
- Follow safety rules and quality standards
- Requires a broad knowledge of machining techniques and familiarity with computer numerically controlled machine tool operating procedures.
- Open to change due to emergency orders or fabrication of parts
- Must be able to work overtime as needed
- A High School Diploma or GED with prior hands on, vocational or job-related course work/training, or any similar combination of education and experience is required. Prior experience in a manufacturing industry is preferred
