    Sr. Software Engineer at Electronic Arts

    We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to integrating and showcasing cutting-edge technologies that drive creativity within our games. If you have a background in game development and service integration, we want to hear from you.

    • As a Senior Software Engineer reporting to the Integrations Technical Director, you will:
    • Create integration client experiences via sample and in-progress multiplayer games that showcase our user-generated content capabilities.
    • Oversee Unreal Engine architecture and design patterns to ensure a performant, stable, and extendable codebase.
    • Utilize and expand on existing cloud-hosted services for game integrations.
    • Utilize and expand on our game SDKs that connect to our services.
    • Write clean, SOLID code that promotes our coding standards.
    • Contribute to our coding standards.
    • Author and review technical design documents and API specifications detailing software requirements.
    • Creatively blend security best practices and original techniques to keep user data secure and prevent cheating.
    • Support and troubleshoot inbound requests from studios and partners.
    • Maintain a suite of automated tests that validate the correctness of backend services.

    Qualifications: Please note that you do not need to qualify for all requirements to be considered. We encourage you to apply if you can meet most of the requirements and are comfortable opening a dialog to be considered.

    • Bachelor/Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
    • 8+ years of job experience in a hands-on coding role.
    • You've shipped or prototyped multiple games with Unreal Engine or Unity.
    • Expertise with Unreal Engine architecture best practices.
    • Expertise with C++ and UE Blueprints. Experience with other languages like C#, TypeScript, Java/Kotlin, or Go is a plus.
    • Experience with terminal, bash, and command line interfaces.
    • Experience mentoring team members to help them grow their skills while maintaining code quality.
    • Implemented or contributed to real-time multiplayer architecture.
    • Develop high-quality, testable software.
    • Experience working in an Agile or Scrum environment.
    • Desire to work with server engineers and designers to integrate their capabilities into games.
    • Willingness to iterate quickly and develop prototypes.
    • Desire to teach and learn from peers.

    Pluses:

    • Unity experience.
    • Worked on multiple aspects of a game (e.g., engine, systems, tooling, networking).
    • Shipped and maintained a framework library used by partners.
    • Experience building scalable services and deploying them to Kubernetes.
    • Experience working with cloud providers (GCP, AWS, Azure, etc).
