- Provides safe, direct observation of patients being transported.
- Assists nursing staff to create, maintain and provide a safe environment.
- Assist health care professionals to lift/move patients when necessary to ensure a smooth transport process.
- Responsible for reporting on changes in the condition of patient/client to the appropriate supervisor and other staff members.
- Possess and demonstrate excellent customer service skills as well as excellent interpersonal, organizational and verbal communication skills.
- Clean and maintain equipment as needed.
- Responsible for performing tasks that are within the scope of his/her educational preparation, knowledge, and permitted by the policies and procedures of Supplemental Health Care, and other local, state, and federal guidelines; and the policies of the facility requesting the services.
- Responsible for having a broad understanding of the services provided by Supplemental Health Care.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current certification in BLS or become certified within 90 days of hire.
- 1 year in a hospital or clinic setting.
- 1 year in a Customer Service role.
- Proven knowledge of body mechanics.

Nashville General Hospital is hiring for a Patient Transporter as a full time job in Nashville, Tennessee.
Shift: Day Shift
This position is primarily responsible for the safe transportation of patients to and from hospital departments and clinical units according to department schedules and the needs and direction of department / unit managers and staff. Assists with non-clinical tasks and duties as assigned.Under direct supervision, the Patient transporter performs duties necessary to provide safe, courteous and efficient transport of patients, equipment, supplies and specimens to and from patient care areas and departments within the facility or campus assigned.
