- Ensures safety precautions are taken on the playground at all times.
- Administers first aid for minor injuries sustained on the playground.
- Cooperates and assists in the preparation and implementation of special events.
- Prepares necessary forms and reports (accident, attendance, property damage).
- Assumes direct responsibility of turning in all written forms and materials to Supervisor, as required.
- Requisitions, receives, issues and oversees the use of equipment and materials.
- Cares for and maintains equipment, materials and facilities.
- Attends and participates in all orientation, planning and staff meetings.
- Uses previous playground experiences in aiding fellow staff members.
- Performs light maintenance duties as assigned, including but not limited to cleaning park buildings, restrooms and picking up litter around the buildings or grounds.
- Participates in efforts to ensure Richfield is an equitable, inclusive and respectful organization and supports the City's mission, vision and core values.
- Ability to work and communicate with a wide variety of people and ages.
- Ability to be creative and spontaneous, enthusiastic and flexible.
- Ability to use insight and forethought regarding a Playground Leader's role.
- Ability to arrive at work on time.
- Demonstrates ability to understand and respect the diversity of customers and co-workers, effectively communicating with individuals whose first language may be one other than English.
- At least 18 years of age or older.
- At least one year experience working with children.
- Fluency in Spanish, Somali, Vietnamese or other non-English language prevalent in the City of Richfield
- Maintain physical condition necessary for moderate to heavy outdoor physical activity such as standing, walking, running, kneeling, sitting, crouching, twisting, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, squatting, lifting materials and supplies ranging from 20-75 lbs.

Nature of Work
Under general direction of the Playground Coordinator, provides a wide range of recreation activities and fun outdoor opportunities for children ages Develops, prepares and implements weekly theme-based activity plans which stimulate growth, development and self-fulfillment of the individual participants.
HOURS
27 weekday hours: Monday - Thursday. June 10 through July 26, 2024.
Orientation: TBD No program June 19, 2024 and July 4, 2024.
This is a seasonal position and is therefore temporary in nature. Position ends at the end of the season.
HIRING INCENTIVE
New/ rehire seasonal workers will receive a $100 incentive after first pay period. And $100 completion incentive at the end of the season.
