Shop Helper and Cabinet Installer - El Monte, United States - Acacia Contract & Seating

Woodshop helper / general labor is responsible to assist in the upkeep of the shop and fabrication of furniture. There will be regular job site installs as well. Some driving is required for deliveries and material pickup.


Job Duties

• Check with supervisor the weekly task requirements (special work needed)
• Maintain dust free floors in the shop
• Empty trash cans
• Maintain compressor water catcher levels (empty every month)
• Clean restrooms (1x per week)
• Empty out dust vacuum and table saw cabinet (biweekly)
• Keep aisles clear
• Keep tools & hardware storage areas organized and tidy
• Take account of jobsite install tools set & equipment and restock / update if needed
• Check tools and recommend replacements if needed
• Return batteries to charger base at the end of shift

- stage furniture for delivery (inspect, clean, and wrap)
- help in prepping furniture for paint if needed
- removing old upholstery for re-upholstery items
- run the shop van to the carwash if needed
- maintain an organized & tidy car interior
- assist and drive to install jobsites
- pickup material from vendors


Skillset:

• Ability to read and use tape measure, basic math and ten key calculator skills
• Wood shop experience is a plus
• Positive attitude and works well with fellow workers
• Highly motivated, selfstarter
• Detail oriented and organized
• Ability to lift up to 150 lbs
• Be able to work in a dusty environment
• Clean driving record & no criminal past
• Ability to drive a commercial van
