    Position: Information Technology Asset Analyst

    The estimated pay for this position is$ to $ The rates shown include a 6% premium pay (base= $-$ plus 6%). This reflects only a portion of the total compensation package for this position. Additional compensation may be available for this role through differentials, incentives, and bonuses. In addition, this position may be eligible for participation and company contributions into the Kern County Employees' Retirement Plan.

    DEFINITION:

    Under general direction of the Information Technology Analyst, the Information Technology Asset Analyst will be responsible for daily and long-term strategic coordination of software and technology-related hardware within the organization. This includes planning, monitoring, and recording software license and/or hardware assets to ensure compliance with vendor contracts. The incumbent will assist in forming procurement strategies to optimize technology spend across the organization. The IT Asset Analyst will also develop and implement procedures for tracking company assets to oversee quality control throughout their lifecycles.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of organizational-wide software and hardware IT asset management policies and procedures, which minimizes compliance risk, enhances the program, and creates process efficiencies.
    • Receive, review, and process all IT recurring and non-recurring invoices, coordinate payment approvals, payment requests, purchase orders and store invoice documents in structured Share Point repository.
    • Obtain and coordinate IT quotes for purchases/services requested; Identify differences in goods/services, present comparisons for decision making ease; Prepare selection made for contract approvals and execution; Monitor life of the contract. Communicate status and up-to-date information to all parties involved.
    • Obtain and coordinate IT lease proposals; prepare and execute lease packages for executive leadership and legal review and approval; Monitor life of the lease. Communicate status and up-to-date information to all parties involved.
    • Manage IT leases through life cycle of contract ensuring compliance with terms and duration.
    • Ensure contracts planned for renewal are prepared with appropriate lead-time to prevent unexpected expiration.
    • Identify savings opportunities for renewals, software licensing, and services. Follow through with vendors and KCHA Associates to obtain identified savings;
    • Facilitate and coordinate preparation of contract renewals through entire approval and legal process.
    • Monitor shipping and tracking or IT orders; coordinate shipping and deliveries with Receiving Department.
    • Create, implement and maintain information in a database format to address budgeting, software and hardware compliance & inventory, contracts and cost.
    • Develop and provide reporting to address management and team requirements, inventory tracking, surplus and proper disposal of assets, and forecasting of necessary asset updates (desktops, laptops, tablets, etc.).
    • Collect information for budgeting, software and hardware compliance and inventory, contract summaries, and cost comparisons;
    • Secure appropriate disposal of decommissioned assets.
    • Prepare and disseminate customer service satisfaction surveys and scoring reports; prepare data findings and provide to management;
    • Respond to requests from end users, managers, developers, and team member for specific IT Software and Hardware Asset Management data information.

    EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
    • Requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a job-related major and a minimum of two (2) years of experience performing ITAA responsibilities, or a combination of education and experience.
    • Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel.
    • Strong knowledge and user experience with Microsoft Office and SharePoint services.
    • High-level familiarity with terminology for network infrastructure, system/server infrastructure, end user computing infrastructure, software and General IT infrastructure. Ability to learn technical services terminology;
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with internal customers, vendors, partners and business managers across various levels of the organization.
    • Well organized, attentive to detains and able to meet demanding deadlines;
    • Project management capabilities.
    • Self-directed and motivated.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    Supplemental:

    Dependent upon assignment, applicants may be required to pass an extensive background investigation, and be fingerprinted. Disqualification for felony, misdemeanor, and traffic offenses will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
