Job Description

This is a full-time position that prepares meals for consumers in residential and acute care settings.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

Measure ingredients required for specific food items being prepared according to the menu.
Wash, cut, and prepare foods designated for cooking.
Deliver prepared meals to facilities by scheduled eating times.
Clean kitchen area, utensils, and food preparation areas and surfaces.
Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
Operate kitchen machinery such as oven, blender, mixer, microwave, dishwasher, etc.
Clean, stock, and restock workstations and pantry.
Seal, protect, and store left over food items in appropriate place (i.e. refrigerator).
Vacuum, sweep, and mop kitchen floor.
Collect and dispose of refuse.
Monitor and comply with established procedures for accidents, fires or other emergencies.
Ensure compliance with facility rules.
Complete reports and paperwork as assigned.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS

Ability to pass Food Handler's Certification.
Must be able to follow a menu and prepare meals according to menu.
Ability to read recipes; read and measure recipe ingredients.
Ability to stoop, kneel, push, pull, and stand for longer periods of time.
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diplomaor equivalent from an accredited institution,
Must maintaina valid driver's license with a good driving record and maintain a driving record that is acceptable to Carastar's insurance carrier.
Must maintain at least liability coverage on personal vehicles.
Must maintain current CPI and Red Cross First Aid/CPR Certificates.
Must pass Food Handler's Certification course.
