ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (other duties may be assigned):

With direction, make various dunnage and boxes out of wood or steel.
With direction, move finished material and raw material
Load and unload trucks as needed.
Assemble and install shipping caps.
Understand and use crane hand signals.
Clean work area each day and put tools back in their proper location.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Equipment Used: Overhead crane, ratchet straps, rubber hammer, stencil, tape measure, wood saws, drill, pneumatic tools, fork trucks, acetylene torches and hand tools.

Certificates, licenses, and registrations: Massachusetts Operating Engineers 1B License.

Knowledge/Skills: Able to read tape measure and blueprints. Must be trained in applicable SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and work instructions, if any.

Education/Experience: None required

Language Skills: Able to read and comprehend simple or somewhat complex instructions. Able to write notes or simple correspondence. Able to effectively communicate information to co-workers.

Mathematical Skills: Able to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division calculations using whole numbers as well as decimals/fractions. Able to calculate and interpret common tape measurements

Attendance Requirement: Regular attendance required during scheduled shift and overtime as required.

Travel Requirement: Local travel

Physical Demands: Manufacturing position; spends more than 2/3 of time standing, kneeling/crouching/stooping, using hands, and reaching. Spends app. 1/3 of time walking and talking/hearing. Spends less than 1/3 of time positioning items weighing up to 100 lbs. (Lifting and moving of heavier items is achieved via overhead cranes and forklifts). Generally requires clear vision at close distances (for reading prints/instructions and marking reference points).

Work Environment: Industrial manufacturing environment with loud noise level. Facility is enclosed and is ventilated, heated and air-conditioned. Approximately 2/3 time spent outside (year round).

$ $25.00 per hour
