Primary Function


Under the direction of the Workforce Center Director, the Workforce Center Coordinator is responsible for planning and implementing a Workforce Development program serving clients 18-24-year-old.

Strong focus will be placed on soft skills workshops, case management, and placement working closely with the Director to build partnerships to support.

Strong emphasis will be placed on ensuring clients' career goals are addressed and met as needed.

Activities also include the facilitation of weekly workshops including resume writing, interview skills, communication, how to make a LinkedIn etc.

The target goal for this position is 100 clients.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop and maintain a written plan for effective delivery of the Workforce based programs including workshops centered on the client's needs and services.
  • Provides individual career related case management and career counseling.
  • Assists all clients, individually or in group settings, with career and personal/social skills, goals, and plans. Develop a career ed plan for all clients utilizing case management services.
  • Maintain paperwork to reflect case management provided.
  • Assists members in building selfesteem and developing decisionmaking, problemsolving, and positive human relations skills.
  • Maintains current and appropriate resources for all participants and provides clients when necessary

Additional responsibilities

  • Monitors client's academic progress and attendance.
  • Work closely with the Workforce Director to recruit corporate partners to support client opportunities.
  • Recruit additional clients with the support of the Career Bound Team.
  • Consult and collaborate with staff as needed to support the program and client goals as well as make appropriate referrals when necessary.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in written and oral communication.
  • Maintains workforce center including basic cleaning and organizational needs.

Required Skills:


Proficiency in prioritizing tasks; ability to think strategically; strong project and time management skills; excellent verbal and written presentation skills; superior interpersonal skills; problem resolution skills and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Demonstrated high standards of ethics and integrity. Must be a self-starter with strong leadership, management, and communication skills. Ability to build and manage project budgets is required.


Environment and Working Conditions
This role may use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Most duties will be carried out in club and outdoors, fields, and areas. Successful program operations will necessitate to travel to training, vendors, agencies, out-of-town trainings, offices, and other program sites.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear.

The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds


Physical and Mental Requirements


Physical, mental, and emotional stamina to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position under sometimes stressful conditions; Manual dexterity sufficient to write, use telephone, business machines, and operate an automobile; Vision sufficient to read printed materials; Hearing sufficient to conduct in-person and telephone conversations; Speaking ability in an understandable voice with sufficient volume to be heard in the normal conversational distance, on the telephone, and in addressing groups; Physical agility to push/pull, squat, twist, turn, bend, stoop, lift a minimum of 25 lbs.

walk and stand for a minimum of 3 hours, and to reach overhead; Physical mobility sufficient to move about the work environment (office, from the club, school, or home site to site), to drive an automobile; Physical, mental, and emotional tolerance to be exposed to the noise generated by children/youth in an enclosed environment; Mental acuity to collect and interpret data, evaluate, reason, define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, make valid judgments and decisions.

High energy level, comfortable performing multi-faceted projects; superior interpersonal abilities-able to interact effectively with co-workers of all levels and with the representation of other organizations and institutions.
