- Conduct safety inspections, audits, and job site visits at various locations to ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Provide safety training and education to employees, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, covering topics such as hazard recognition, fall protection, equipment operation, and emergency response procedures.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, analyzing root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and field personnel to address safety concerns and develop mitigation strategies.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to safety activities, including training records, incident reports, and safety meetings.
- Stay informed about changes in safety regulations, industry trends, and best practices, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies, clients, and industry organizations on safety-related matters.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and/or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification.
- Experience in safety management, preferably in heavy civil infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to travel extensively and work in various locations. Relocating full-time for various periods of time may be preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to promoting a positive safety culture and fostering collaboration across all levels of the organization.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Construction Management, or related field.
- Experience with federal heavy civil infrastructure projects.
