- Supporting the MDA Enterprise within the Global Network Operation Support Center (GNOSC) to provide 24/7 Network Operations Center assistance.
- Managing and maintaining the MDA Synchronous Optical Network (SONET) infrastructure, with a focus on troubleshooting and configuration management of network devices and circuits.
- Oversight of MDA COMSEC management, operations, and maintenance.
- Serving as the main point of contact for COMSEC management with different entities at the MDA.
- Handling deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of TACLANES and encryption devices across the MDA infrastructure in a geographically dispersed setting.
- Conducting network engineering, monitoring, and administrative tasks as necessary.
- Providing initial analysis and resolution of issues identified through network monitoring tools, and offering troubleshooting support to end users on the network and circuits, along with other general networking responsibilities.
- Additional duties involve generating status reports, performing network anomaly analysis, and creating engineering red lines to support network maintenance tasks and enhancements.
- Responding to Remedy incidents, work orders, tasks, and change requests.
- Collaborating with customers to address network and circuit communication issues.
- Offering Test/Event support as required.
- Monitoring and maintaining MDA network and circuits using various platforms for rapid detection, diagnosis, and resolution of network performance issues and outages.
- Executing network, circuit, and system surveillance, as well as supporting cybersecurity measures.
- Serving as the subject matter expert (SME) on network and circuit service delivery for assigned MDA/IC capabilities.
- Cooperating with DISA and DREN to report and resolve network and circuit issues.
- Performing Layer 1 cable troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), providing training, and fulfilling other responsibilities as directed by the Network Operations Center or Global Network Operations Security Center Manager.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Current DoD 8570 Level II Certification, such as CompTIA Security CE or higher
- Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
- Cisco CCNA Certification
- Proficiency and potential to become a Subject Matter Expert on the GEM Encryptor Manager Application, all versions
- Experience with various technologies including Cisco routers/switches, Palo Alto Firewalls, McAfee, Wildfire, and FireEye IPS/IDS, Citrix NetScaler, Blue Coat Proxy, and SSL Decryptors
- Familiarity with IT Services Configuration Management processes
- Experience with Remedy and SNMP monitoring tools (e.g., Micro focus/HPOV/SolarWinds)
- Knowledge of ITIL framework and processes, including continual service improvement, change management, and problem investigation
- Relevant experience with COMSEC/TACLANE, networking (LAN/WAN), TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP routing protocols, and various WAN network technologies, as well as an understanding of SONET networks
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Micro Focus ITOM, NetScout, networking (LAN/WAN), and basic troubleshooting of network anomalies
- Experience with Remedy action request system
- Strong understanding of SONET, COMSEC, Circuit Actions, and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Tech Control procedures

Description of Duties:
The COMSEC/Circuit Management/SONET Engineer will be supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) as part of the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The responsibilities include:
This position is available at Schriever SFB, Colorado Springs, CO.
The salary for this role is expected to range from $86,500 to $111,500 per year, depending on qualifications, education, and relevant certifications.
