Job Summary:

Due to the growth of the Dual Enrollment opportunities in Career and Technical Education (CTE) with local Independent School Districts, positions for Adjunct Instructor are available.

Major Essential Job Functions:

Teach courses as scheduled and actively engage students in the learning process
Maintain one office hour per week/per course
Attend adjunct faculty meetings
Assess courses on departmental and institutional levels
Complete required training, such as Blackboard Certification, Title IX Training, etc.
Must have reliable transportation for travel to assigned instructional sites
Utilize LIT's Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) to continually hone and improve professional knowledge and teaching skills
Maintain knowledge of and adherence to the policies and procedures contained in the TSUS and LIT Policies and Procedures Manual
Maintain ethical and professional behavior
Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the ability to: remain in a stationary position for most of the time; occasionally move about inside an office to access documents, office equipment, etc.; constantly operate a computer or other office equipment, such as a printer or copy machine.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Appropriate degree, in accordance with specific program instructor qualifications. For example, some programs require a master's degree, while other, more technical programs may require an associate degree and/or industry certification or license.
Experience requirements will vary depending on discipline being taught.
Specific Certifications/Licenses may be required depending on discipline being taught.
Good verbal and written communication skills
Good time management skills
Awareness of national issues and trends in education and related field
