Description
The Nutritional Services Lead Cafeteria Worker's duties include but are not limited to: planning, assisting and supporting of nutritional services at Lawrence Family Development Charter School & Lawrence Family Development, Inc., extended day programs, contracted programs and catering/event services and provide support for staff in all food service locations.
They must maintain compliance with all local, state and federal health codes and provide high-quality meals to all contracted programs with a focus on catering and event services.
This person will provide high-quality meals to all contracted programs and catering services along with support of all staff and will help ensure all program areas are served attractive, nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and warmth.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in providing a quality food service program, adhering to all federal regulations and the publiclyfunded Wellness Policies for balanced, sound nutrition at breakfast, lunch and snacks
- In coordination with Director and Kitchen Manager collect and gather data for ordering and inventory and prepare for submission
- Help coordinate food preparation/serving sites for events with food service staff
- Help maintain compliance with all local, state and federal health codes in all kitchens and cafeterias, with particular attention to food allergies
- Work collaboratively with program administrators to ensure regular, timely and clear communications
- Help ensure that food service program balances quality and nutrition with cost effectiveness
- Help coordinate and maintain accurate nutrition and menu information in every food service area
- Assist in the preparation and execution of meals for catering and contracted service partnerships
- Support additional schoolbased and organizationbased activities including professional training days, board meetings and special events as requested and approved by administration
- Remain current in terms of new developments in terms of food services and education programs relative to nutrition, wellness and preparation
Experience/Qualifications:
- At least three years' experience in a food services program, including quality food production and service preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of the methods and procedures involved in the preparing and serving of meals in a cafeteria/catering environment
- Possess or acquire ServSafe and other relevant certifications
- Demonstrated ability to follow verbal and written directives
- Demonstrated knowledge of food values, wellness and dietetic principles of food preparation
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficient in English with bilingual Spanish/English preferred
- Valid Driver's License
- Possess ability to do heavy lifting (not to exceed 40 lbs.)

$ $25.00 per hour
