    Description

    Our client, a large and well known Shipyard on the Delaware River, is seeking an Electrical Outfitting Engineer to join their team and be responsible for reviewing the basic and detail design aspects of the electrical outfitting production engineering. You will also be responsible for field engineering activities as required, to support construction of vessels by the shipyard. The individual will interface with other design teams, planning, quality control, procurement, design sub-contractors, and production personnel as required to complete their assigned activities.     MUSTS:

    • 5+ years of experience as an electrical outfitting engineer OR electrical field engineer within the marine field
    • Experience with cable routing is required
    • Experience with Installation of electrical equipment
    • Bachelors degree required (electrical preferred, but would consider mechanical too)
    • Knows what electrical outfitting is
    • Ability to read and understand electrical design documents, diagrams, installation drawings, and blue prints
    • Experience with electrical system and electrical design and construction
    • Knowledge with some of these: navisworks, aviva marine, /AutoCAD
    • Understanding of Classification Society Rules for New Construction, IMO Regulations

    Day to Day:

    • 5+ years of experience as an electrical outfitting engineer OR electrical field engineer within the marine field
    • Responsible for the downloading, organizing, filing and distributing project-related electrical outfitting design documents.
    • Process approved engineering documents using standard Documentation Control System to register documents and maintain the database as required.
    • Support the development of detailed design work package documentation, such as the fabrication drawings, installation drawings, installation standards, and material lists for release to production; this may include design sub-contractor oversight.
    • Participate in basic and outfitting design activities within the Electrical Deign Department, which includes, but is not limited to, the detailed review of electrical outfitting design to confirm the design is complete, accurate and complies with electrical outfitting design standards, building methods, vessel contract specifications as well as Class and other regulations.
    • Provide field engineering support as required and provide feedback to the Electrical Outfitting Design team as well as provide field corrections and repair instructions for the electrical outfitting teams.
