    SUMMARY


    The Chief Financial Officer will set the strategy and vision for the financial position of The Arc Gateway and related organizations.

    As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, this position will direct all financial functions including:

    accounting, billing, reconciling, budget development and tracking, financial operations, finance personnel management, insurance coverage, management of legal requirements and develops projections on individual project budgets, grant budgets, and capital improvement budgets.

    Additionally, this position will oversee information technology and human resources while working collaboratively with the CEO, COO and CAO.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Provides strategic vision and mentorship in the understanding of financial planning and reporting.

    Partners with the Executive Team to model and foster a culture that is analytical, collaborative and improving continuously.

    Results-focused with regular analysis of financial performance, trends, and forecasts.

    Designs, recommends, implements, and evaluates internal controls, policy and procedures for financial operations, risk management, and employee satisfaction.

    Leads budget preparation, review, presentation and implementation in collaboration with managers/directors, officers, Board Finance Committee and Board of Directors.

    Analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and communicate financial results to CEO and Board Treasurer.

    Serves as a liaison to the Board Finance Committee and Board of Directors.

    Assists in the preparation of grant and contract applications, reports on performance and ensures financial compliance.

    Directs all treasury management functions including operating and savings accounts, investments, endowment, corporate credit cards, and debt management.


    Drives annual financial audits, ensures accurate reporting and responses, as well as reviewing and approving annual Forms 990 and F-1120.


    Provides oversight of human resources and payroll and benefits, including required filings, reports, recommending policy and procedures, and ensures appropriate systems are implemented.


    Leads the information technology function to ensure appropriate systems and policies are in place, analyzes current and future IT needs and works cross-functionally to meet this needs.

    Primary principle in negotiating and maintaining all employee benefits and corporate insurance policies.

    Ensure compliance for all required local, state, and federal reporting, as well as audits and related reviews.

    Cultivates and manages team members, guides professional development, and ensures team members are mentored and supported.


    Serves as Acting Chief Financial Officer for a nearby Arc affiliate, one that is a similar size to The Arc Gateway in employees, budget and programs.

    Occasional travel to Arc affiliate may be required.


    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly s upervise four staff (Director of Finance, Director of Human Resources, IT Specialist and Administrative Coordinator) in accordance with the organization's policies, the requirements of the funding agencies and applicable laws.

    Recruit, train and evaluate staff. Coordinate scheduling and work assignments for the efficient operation of the program.


    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    • CPA, CFE, CMA or Master's Degree required
    • Bachelor's degree required from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, business administration, nonprofit management, or equivalent
    • A minimum of five years of progressive senior level work experience directing the accounting functions in a non-profit agency, or equivalent experience
    • Previous experience with accounting software such as Great Plains, Sage, Netsuite or similar
    • Thorough knowledge of budgeting and accounting practices, processes, and procedures of non-profit organizations, as well as GAAP
    • Demonstrated ability to organize, direct and coordinate operations in personnel supervision; the recruitment and retention of key personnel and budget management
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Strong organization and analytical skills
    • Consistent attention to detail
    • Advanced knowledge and utilization of Excel
    • Strong computer literacy to include use of MS Word, Power point, Outlook, and more

    LANGUAGE SKILLS
    Analytical thinking and ability to analyze data. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and board of directors.


    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.


    REASONING ABILITY
    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

    Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS


    Must be able to pass FDLE background screening, Department of Children and Families Abuse Registry Check, local law enforcement background check, Affidavit of Good Moral Character, and drug screen.

    Successful completion of CPR, First Aid, Core Competencies, Zero Tolerance, HIV, and HIPAA certifications will be required.

    $85, $110,000.00 per year
