- Conduct routine building maintenance tasks such as painting, minor electrical repairs, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC system maintenance.
- Clean building interiors, machinery, equipment, and exteriors.
- Complete administrative duties like filling out forms and reporting maintenance statuses.
- Adhere to safety and health regulations.
- Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, and communicate needs to the supervisor.
- Respond to emergency maintenance calls.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues.
- Collaborate with contracted vendors.
- Assist in special projects.
- Engage in ongoing training for preventive maintenance tasks.
- Participate in continuous training and education to progress toward M-1 Maintenance status.

- Two years of vocational training preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems is a plus.
- Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively and follow instructions.
- Capacity to work independently and solve maintenance-related issues.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn.
- Willing to work overtime, weekends, and outside regular hours.
- Rotational on-call schedule for holidays and weekends.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting safety rules and manuals.
- Occasionally sit, bend, stoop, climb, lift up to 50 lbs.
- Frequently use hands, walk, stand, talk, and hear.
- Safety glasses, safety shoes, and hearing protection are mandatory.
- Ambient temperature may exceed 100 degrees.
- Exposure to outside weather conditions throughout the year.
- Use of hard hats and safety harnesses when operating manlifts or working above 6 ft.
- Engagement in Industrial Maintenance Certification classes is necessary, with support from Wabtec's Tuition Reimbursement Program.
