Job Summary:

This position will staff the front desk for International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS).

Employees in this position are expected, but are not limited to, performing the following job responsibilities:


  • Greet visitors and direct them as needed.
  • Answer the main ISSS phone line, assist callers, take detailed messages, and transfer calls as appropriate.
  • Sign students in for Express Advising and monitor the walk-in queue.
  • Answer basic questions by directing students to the ISSS website/ISSS Portal and providing relevant handouts.
  • Accurately perform general clerical duties including data entry, filing, copying, downloading, uploading, and scanning.
  • Discreetly handle confidential or privileged documents and information.
  • Conduct web-based research on relevant topics, as needed.
  • Assist with International Orientation.
  • Run office errands on campus.
  • Other duties as assigned and necessary, including some lifting, transporting, or moving materials, etc.

Pay Rate:

$16.50/hour


Required Qualifications:


  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products, including Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Prior clerical work experience

Work Hours:

Monday - Friday from 8am - 4:30pm
May be asked on occasion to work outside of these hours for special events
