Job Summary/Basic Function

The Media Arts Production Technician primary responsibility is to help maintain media equipment and related equipment.

  • Help maintain equipment preventative maintenance (PM) under direction form your supervisor.
  • Work with faculty, staff, and students to help determine issues and provide frontline support.
  • Help keep facilities clean and neat.
  • Work on special projects as directed by supervisor to maintain or improve the facilities.
  • Provide in class technical support.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Understand audio, broadcast, lighting, media, and video equipment.
  • Have a positive attitude, and the ability to work well with other students, faculty, and staff.
  • Be a leader and detail oriented.
  • Maintain professionalism during periods of stress.

Must complete 3 required clearances (PA Criminal Background, Child Abuse History, and FBI
Fingerprints).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of audio and video equipment.
  • Understand equipment workflows.
  • Understanding of the broadcast and media industry.
  • Minimum 2.5 overall GPA.
  • 12 years prior experience working in AV or entertainment technology.
  • Basic technical knowledge to help determine issues with equipment.

Job Duties

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Perform preventative maintenance (PM) as requested by your supervisor.
  • Help with all upgrades, installations, and replacements.
  • Help maintain computers, computer labs and basic network tasks.
  • Do not share sensitive information including accounts and passwords with anyone unless instructed to do so and they have signed the proper forms allowing them to have the information.
  • Participate in all upgrades and remodels as requested by your supervisor.
  • Help oversee the electrical equipment recycling program.
