The Charles County Department of Social Services (CCDSS) is seeking a Family Investment Specialist for a unique opportunity to work in our Family Investment Administration.

This role is crucial in supporting the FY 25 Sun Bucks Program, which provides summer snap for Charles County, MD.

Please note, this position is contingent, employed by the Tri-County Council of the Lower Eastern Shore, and functions within the CCDSS department.

CCDSS offers a supportive working environment and professional training and development.

This entry-level position will be exposed to all areas of the Family Investment Administration (FIA).

Examples of work will consist of the following responsibilities but not limited to the following:

• Responds to inquiries, makes determinations, and resolves problems relative to inaccurate or incomplete information and discrepancies in various records and documents being processed;
• Explains the basis of determinations to workers in other offices and agencies, customers or their representatives, and the general public;
• Updates and maintains files, logs, schedules, rosters and records;
• Composes routine correspondence to provide or request essential information, explain the status of requests and the procedures to be followed;
• Recommends changes in office procedures as necessary to improve office efficiency;
• Performs other related duties;

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


Education:
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.


Experience:

Six months of public contact experience involving negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, gathering and compiling data, performing analysis of data, writing correspondence, and completing mathematical or legal tasks.

OR:


OR:

Six months of experience in the U.S. Armed Forces.
