An MTA driver with the MTA Access-a-Ride program provides transportation services for individuals with disabilities, ensuring safe and timely travel to their destinations.

Essential Job Functions:

Transport individuals with disabilities who cannot use standard public transit
Collecting fares and tracking the records of the fares that are collected
Transporting individuals to their desired location in a safe and timely manner
Maintaining a clean space for the passengers such as: cleaning the interior of the vehicle and having an inventory of emergency supplies
Coordinating with dispatch to ensure the correct vehicle is sent to pick up each passenger
Doing safety checks to make sure the vehicle is safe to drive
Communicating with the appropriate staff about any mechanical problems
Must be able to work onsite, this is not a remote role
Perform other duties as assigned
Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations

Qualifications Needed:

Possess great communication skills with ability to listen to feedback.
Must have a valid Driver's License + TLC license
Must have a clean driving record
Able to work the morning or night shift
Proficient in terms of knowledge of traffic laws
